Walking of NAGANO - Residency Theme
- curated by ELSEWHERE -
- complete date: 6/2025 -
Artists are invited to immerse themselves in sustained walks, capturing the breathing rhythm of the locality, and translating fleeting perceptions into a distinct visual language. Through personalized artistic grammar, they will narrate and reconstruct memories, cultivating intimate story specimens within the public realm.
- Safe House -
This photographic installation transforms discarded studio materials, local stones, and everyday debris into a cohesive "shelter." Artworks are often protected as untouchable sanctuaries—a distance that mirrors my interpretation of "safety": a stable yet exclusionary state. Viewers may circle but cannot intervene, paralleling our yearning for absolute yet elusive security. The inherent fragility of reclaimed materials clashes with the "safe house’s" solid form, questioning whether safety is merely a fragile human construct.
